The rats are as common as they ever have been at the moment. We see them most days and often more than one. It is hardly surprising with food on the ground, and so we will need to be mindful of this going forward. We do not really want to be feeding an ever growing population of rats. The badgers largely ignore them unless they get really close.
Having said all of that...don't really dislike them, and can't help but smile as this cheeky rat gleefully drags a large piece of bread crust away with it!

You have just found a clip from UKWildlifeCam! Our channel is a video diary of sorts, from an IP camera in a small yard and paddock in Somerset, England.
Our videos are in date order (we are quite behind at the moment!), and simply show the wonderful creatures that visit us at night.
This all started by accident. We feed the birds, and discovered, by chance, a badger feeding on the waste on the floor one night.
This led us to wonder what else might be around, so we bought a camera, and have been absolutely amazed by what we have seen.
We put scraps of food out, and peanuts, and then sit back and see who decides to visit!
